Earlier this week, the Nigerian Women Alliance (NiWA), a loose coalition of feminists across generations and sectors working as organisations and individuals to catalyse growth within the Nigerian women's movement met with the Commonwealth Foundation to discuss strategies aimed at achieving the objective of the Alliance. The meeting was hosted by Project Alert on Violence Against Women.
It was a refreshing experience for the BAOBAB team at the project planning meeting. It is our expectation that the Alliance would enrich the conversations around connecting feminists of all ages and spaces to improve the lives of women and girls in Nigeria.
